Roderick "Rod" A. Rahn, 74 of Forest, OH died at his residence Sat. morning Sept. 26, 2009.

He was was born April 21, 1935 in Lanark, IL to the late Rex R. & Vera (Roderick) Rahn.

Mr. Rahn is survived by a daughter Tonya Rahn of Hawaii, 2 sons, Rex (Jodi Huffman) Rahn and Brett (Jackie Shirk) Rahn both of Forest, 8 grandchildren, Steven, Sierra, Chevy, Sommer, Shandy, Shantel, Dylan, Averie, 1 great grandchild, a sister, Reva Doty, and special companion, El Wanda Hastings of Dunkirk. He was preceded in death by 1 grandson, Matthew Ropp.

Mr. Rahn served in the US Army as a radio operator stationed in Turkey. He owned and operated Rahn Insurance Agency in Forest for 13 years, he then worked for the Forest Post Office and then for the Walmart bakery in Kenton. He was a member of Senate Lodge #378 F& A M, Forest, and the American Motorcycle Ass. He was an avid Pittsburg Steelers fan; he enjoyed umpiring slow pitch softball games for the ASA, gardening, and watching his grandchildren participate in sports.

A funeral service will be held Wed. Sept. 30, 2009 at 10:30 AM in the CLARK SHIELDS Funeral Home with Pastor Dennis Livingston officiating. Burial will follow at Hueston cemetery with full military honors being conducted by McVitty VFW Post 1182, American Legion Post 259 both of Forest, and Amvets Post 1994 of Kenton. Visitation will be held from 2-4 & 6-8PM on Tue. Sept. 29, 2009 in the CLARK SHIELDS Funeral Home. Visit www.shieldsfh.com to view the Life Tribute Video, send a condolence or share a memory.
