Timoteo G. Almager, 97, of Huntsville, Texas, died May 12, 2012. He was born in Beeville, Texas, on February 7, 1915, to Eleuterio Almager and Gertrudes Almager (Garcia).
He is preceded in death by his wife, Margarita G. Almager; sons, Willie Martinez and Equietero Martinez; daughter, Maria Anita Martinez; and parents.
Those left to cherish his memory are his daughters, Rosalinda A. Lucero, of Huntsville and Herlinda A. Vega, of Corpus Christi, Texas; son, Margarito G. Martinez, Sr., of Beeville, Texas; granddaughters, Irmalinda A. Mejia, of Huntsville, Enedina C. Juarez, of Huntsville, Norma M. Perez, of San Antonio, Amanda Sancken, of Kansas, Margarita Martinez, of Victoria and many others; seven grandsons, Delmar Chavarria, Santigo Martinez, Jose Leomar Mendoza , Jose Omar Mendoza, Orlando Almager, Andy Vega, Jr., Margarito Martinez, Jr. and many more; six grand-grandsons, Timoteo Martinez, Gustavo A. Almager, Armando A. Flores, Salvador Mejia, Jr., Dohn C. Juarez, Dacoby Juarez, Gerardo Juarez, Jr. and many more; grand granddaughters, Adela Martinez, Caroline Mejia, Jazzie E. Juarez and many more; daughters-in-law, Lupe Martinez, Nancy Martinez, Emilia Martinez; sons-in-law, Juan Lucero, Andy Vega, Ray Teran; and numerous other family members and friends.
Mr. Almager, was a veteran of WWII and worked for Southwestern Bell for 36 years. He moved to Huntsville, Texas on June 8, 1980, to be close to family. He loved playing dominoes and cards with family and friends. Many, many people and families remember Timo for his work as a carpenter, lawn care, and landscaping. His gardening skills were exceptional. He had a remarkable personality and was willing to help friends and family in anyway needed.
He was a wonderful dad and angel to his family and friends.
Serving as pallbearers are Ruben A. Lucero, Eden A. Lucero, Fausto A. Lucero, Raudel G. Lucero, Renko R. Lucero, Andy Vega, Jr., Timoteo Martinez, and Justin Mendoza and serving as honorary pallbearers are Gustavo Almager and Gerardo Juarez.
A Funeral Mass will be held Saturday, May 19th, 2012, 10:00 a.m., at St. Thomas Catholic Church in Huntsville, Texas. Interment will follow at Mayes Addition of Oakwood Cemetery, in Huntsville, Texas. Mr. Almager will lie in state at Sam Houston Memorial Funeral Home, on Wednesday and Thursday, May 16th and May 17th, 2012, from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.; and Friday, May 18th, 2012, from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., with Rosary at 7:00 p.m.
