Shirley Ann McCaffety, was born September 1, 1938, in Walker County, Texas to H. W. Woods and Clara Cromeens Woods. She passed into glory in Huntsville, Texas on January 11, 2012.
Shirley is survived by her husband of 58 years, Eugene McCaffety; son, Robert McCaffety & wife Frankie; daughter, Pamela Barnes; five grandchildren, Jason McCaffety & wife Trisha, Cody McCaffety, Tyler McCaffety & wife Lindsey, Jeremy Barnes & wife Amanda, Lindsay Wilson & husband Danny; two great grandchildren, Ashley & Austin McCaffety.
Shirley owned and operated McCaffety Electric Co. alongside her husband and family 49 years. Kindhearted, and caring, generously giving of her time and effort to whatever task was at hand. She was faithful to her church, First Assembly of God, where she served in the Sunday school department more than 30 years, as well as, actively supporting many missions’ endeavors. Her passion for cooking was rivaled only by her love of gardening.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Kenneth Woods and son-in-law, Don Barnes.
A special thank you to Thee Hospice and her loving caregivers Ruby Brock, Tammie Dees, and Jamie Kinser.
Funeral services will be held Friday, January 13, 2012, 3:00 p.m. at McAdams Chapel, with interment following at McAdams Cemetery in Walker County. Family will receive friends Thursday, January 12, 2012 from 5:00-7:00 p.m. at Sam Houston Memorial Funeral Home, Huntsville, TX.
