Fredrick Donald Von Almen passed away on December 10, 2011, in Trinity, Texas at 87. He was born in Dundas, Illinois, to Fred Von Almen and Tishe Wagner Von Almen, on December 18, 1923.
He is survived by his daughters, Linda Sue Farrell and husband, Bob of Elkins Lake in Huntsville, Texas, Pamela Jean Von Almen, of Eugene Oregon, Debra Ann Hawkins and husband, Ron of Bloomington, Indiana; son, Fred Von Almen of Bloomington, Indiana; grandchildren, Michelle Hindmarch of Arlington, Virginia, Lily and Talon Lamadore of Eugene, Oregon, Renee and Troy Johnston of Honolulu, Hawaii; great-grandchildren, Inana and Ona Lowry of Honolulu, Hawaii.
Fredrick served in WWII and was awarded five campaign medals, Silver Star and other numerous honors.
