Ada Belle Corcoran

Ada Corcoran passed away peacefully on September 15, 2009. She was born to Helen and Hance Henderson Hobson on December 11, 1921 in Maypearl, Texas.
Ada was preceded in death by her parents, her husband of fifty-four years, Elbert Lee Corcoran, and sisters Margaret Lucas and Patsy Hobson.
A retiree of The Texas Department of Criminal Justice, Ada possessed extraordinary strength of character and held strong Christian values. She lived her life with grace and dignity, always exhibiting a kind and giving spirit. Ada provided unconditional love not only to her family and friends but to others from all walks of life. Her generosity helped many in times of need. She was and will forever be deeply loved and respected by those whose lives she touched.
Ada Belle is survived by her daughter, Elsie Davis and husband, Dan; son, Buddy Corcoran and wife, Wonda; son, Elmer Corcoran and wife, Joyce; and son, Wayne Corcoran and wife, Patti. Her grandchildren include Michaela Ginsel and husband, Ricky; Jennifer Davis; Anthony Corcoran and wife, Sonja; Rusty Corcoran; Michael Rinehart and wife, Wendy. Ada is also survived by five great grandchildren, one great-great grandchild and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Devoted siblings include Carl Hobson, Robert Hobson and wife, Jean; Juanita Hinson and husband, E.J.; Gerald Hobson and wife, Jeanie; Bennie Hobson and companion, Fran Jacobs; and Curtis Hobson and wife, Beverly.
The family wishes to express gratitude and appreciation for the loving care provided to our Mom by the people at The Carriage Inn, The Lexington and most recently The Avalon.
Serving as honorary pallbearers are Ada’s grandchildren. Funeral Services will be held at Sam Houston Memorial Funeral Home on Friday, September 18, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. Internment will follow at Rockland Cemetery in Lovelady, Texas at 3:00 p.m. The family will receive visitors at The Sam Houston Memorial Funeral Home on Thursday, September 17, 2009 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.
