VIEW/SEND CONDOLENCES
| | | Lillian Colburn Ringo was born March 30, 1923 in Huntsville, Texas and entered the Gates of Heaven May 7, 2009.
Lillian worked for JC Penney for 29 years on the square downtown. She didn’t like the big town mall atmosphere when the store moved to West Hill Mall. She decided it was the right time to retire to take care of her ailing husband. Lillian was a devoted, loving and caring wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She will be missed beyond words. Our comfort is knowing that she was a true Christian, whose faith was strong. She loved Reagan and all her Northside Baptist Church family.
Lillian was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Edward (Tootie) Ringo, Jr.; her parents, Wesley and Sallie Colburn; sisters, Leatha Harding and Vaudine Pegoda Shepherd.
She is survived by daughter Donnie Hart; son Wayne Ringo and wife Sandra; brother Buddy Colburn; granddaughters LaDonna and husband Bryan Collier, Tracy and husband G. Guynes; grandson Eddie Ringo and wife Marla. Her great-grandsons, which were the joys of her life, Corey Logan, Jonah and Matthew Collier. Brothers-in-law Robert Ringo and wife Vicki, James Ringo and wife Ollie. We were all very blessed to have her in our lives.
The family gives special thanks to Dr. David Ficklen for the great care he gave to our mother.
Pallbearers are Corey Logan, Jonah Collier, Robert Ringo, Jr., Eddie Ringo, James Ringo and Bill Ringo.
Services will be held Monday, May 11, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Sam Houston Funeral Home with Rev. Reagan Cooksey officiating. Interment will follow at Adicks Addition of Oakwood Cemetery in Huntsville. The family will receive friends at the Funeral Home on Sunday, May 10, 2009 from 6:30 p.m. - 9:30 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Northside Baptist Church Building Fund, 1207 FM 980, Huntsville Texas 77320.
