Marletta Jo Raaum Appel, born August 12, 1937 in Ambrose, Divide County, North Dakota went to be with the Lord, March 12, 2007 at her home outside of Huntsville, Texas. In a life that almost reached seven decades Marletta was a good friend to many, a loving wife to Richard Walter Appel, a wonderful mother to Monica Rue Koehl, Betta Lue Goyette, Virginia Sue (Ginger) Sebastian and Mason Arnold Appel, a friend and advisor to their spouses; Freddy Koehl, Steve Goyette, Sonny Sebastian and Sonya Appel, a warm and nurturing grandmother to Brandon and Almira Johnson, Amber and Joseph Escobedo, Sabrina Knipstein Harden, Heather Knipstein,Desiree Sebastian Rouse, Jared Sebastian, Cassandra and Sal Baldavinos, Christine and Rachel Appel, Joshua and Aaron Goyette and great grandmother to several. She lived, loved and laughed as the Lord God saw fit and her time upon this earth walking in faith and teaching us His Word every day was too short. She is preceded in death and has been reunited with her brother Vernal, father Barrett, husband Richard, daughter Monica Koehl and grandson Jeremy Sebastian in Heaven.

The second child of Barrett and Hannah Bloom Raaum, Marletta is survived by her mother, older brother Ronnel (Judy) Raaum of Virginia, her sister Joan Melrose, a Missionary in Kenya, brother Jerry (Cic) Raaum of North Dakota, twin sisters Bonnie (Ron) Mickelson, of Montana and Bonnie (Bill) Smith of Washington, several cousins, nieces and nephews.

The family would like to thank Thee Hospice of Huntsville and others for the care, comfort and support that they provided Marletta in her last days with us. Marletta gave us all hope, courage and a solid foundation that Jesus Christ is Lord. She will be missed by her family and countless friends.

Family, friends and acquaintances may view her earthly remains at the Sam Houston Memorial Funeral Home, 1700 Normal Park Drive, Huntsville on Wednesday March 14th. from 5 to 8 PM. A Celebration of her life and her Homecoming with Jesus will be held at 10 AM Thursday March 15, 2007 at the First Assembly of God Church, 3122 Montgomery Road, Huntsville, Texas with Rev. Jason Taylor of Faith Assembly of God Church Houston officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations to the following maybe made in her name: Thee Hospice., P.O.
