Blake had a deep love for the Lord. He was a joy, an inspiration and touched many lives. Blake will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

Blake was born June 28, 1990, in Huntsville, Texas to Byron and Charlene Sandel. He is preceded in death by great grandparents H.H. "Tubby" and Nuna Sandel, Lee and Eva Mae Farris, J.C. and Alice Driskill, "Bronc" and Irene Corley; grandparents, Charles and Molly Driskill; and an uncle, Jim Driskill. He is survived by his parents, his brother, grandparents and aunts and uncles, Laura and Tommy Gilbreath, Lynn and Bill Mizell; cousins, Tim Nichols, Stacy and Stephanie Gilbreath, Logan and Lindsey Mizell.

Blake loved life and this is evident through his many activities and accomplishments. He loved music and playing his guitar. He attended Huntsville Church of Christ Youth. At school, Blake was a member of Interact and Mu Alpha Theta Math Honor Society. He won 1st place in the state essay competition for The Texas Elks Association's American Essay Contest with his paper "What Old Glory Means to Me". He was a member and officer in FFA and 4H clubs as well as a Lifetime Member of the Walker County Fair Association. Blake has raised and shown animals at the Walker County Fair for the last eight years and a WCFA Top Hand winner for two years. He also won the 4H Horse Club's high-point boy's saddle in 2004.

Blake's greatest joy was the rodeo where his events were calf roping, team roping and steer wrestling. He was a member of the Texas High School Rodeo Association, Texas Youth Rodeo Association and Youth Rodeo Association. Although Blake won many buckles and awards, he was most proud of being a 2006 Texas High School Rodeo state finalist.
