Verlyn Dixon was born October 21, 1938 in Moran, Texas to Stonewall and Corine (Dorsey) Jackson and passed away September 4, 2005 in Conroe.
She worked at the Hitchin Post for many years and everyone will remember her for her good service and the pies she made, especially the German Chocolate Pie. She was a seamstress for all her fellow employees. She loved cats and even had pet squirrels.
Services will be held graveside Wednesday, September 7, 2005 at the Pine Prairie Cemetery under the direction of Sam Houston Memorial Funeral Home with the Rev. Mike Kirby officiating.
She is survived by three sons; Jack Walsh, Authur Walsh and Anthony Walsh, thirteen grandchildren and three great-grandchildren, stepchildren; Florence Estes, Ned and Cindy Dixon, Debra and John Howell, Nancy Smith and Orman and Saundra Dixon, brother Author Jackson and wife Mary, sister Patricia Bedynek and husband David, brother James Wayne Jackson and wife Jackie. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jonnie Ray Dixon and her parents.
