Born December 30, 1942 In Goose Creek, Tx. Passed away August 25, 2011 in St. Lukes Hospital in The Woodlands, Tx, after a short illness. Carletta was the first born child of 6 children to Mr. & Mrs. T.E. Downing of Baytown, Tx.
Left to cherish her memory are her six children, Gina Jay of Huntsville, Dale Clem of Houston, Tx, Sandra Clem of Baytown, Tx, Lisa Finch of Livingston, Tx and Karena Mutz of Houston, Tx. Fifteen grandchildren, April Clem, William Rowe, Amanda Bouge, Meagan Youngblood, Mason Calloway, Dylan Clem, Ismael Cortez, Jr., Eric Cortez, Derrick Henson, Steven Henson, Shelbie Finch, Jonathan Rose, Cordelia Rose, Brandon Mutz and Jarred Mutz.
Eleven great-grand children, Samatha Clem, Levi Rowe, Sara Rowe, Gabriel Cortez, Gulian Cortez, Melina Cortez, Ava Cortez, Kyler Bouge, Bradley Henson, James Fussell and Rosie Henson. Siblings Ronald Downing Sr, Houston, Tx, Linda Jordan, Lufkin, Tx, Jill Vinson, Houston, Tx, Terry Downing, Huntsville, Tx. Also multiple sister-in-laws, brother-in-laws, nieces and nephews all of Houston, Tx.
Carletta was preceeded in death by her mother, Bonnie Williams Downing; daughter, Janice Kay Downing; and brother-in-law, Roger N. Jordan.
Pallbearers are Dale Clem, Eric Cortez, William Rowe, Dylan Clem, Jarred Mutz and Brandon Mutz.
Services for Carletta are Sunday, August 28, 2011, 10:00 am at Sam Houston Memorial Funeral Home in Huntsville, Tx. Graveside service is Monday, August 29, 2011 at 12 High Noon at Mahomet Cemetery, Mahomet, Tx 78605.
