|Mollie Mae Currie, better known to most as Cur-Cur was the wife of the late Boldon "Hudge" Currie. Mollie was born in Point Blank, TX to Julius L. Capers and Bertie Adams Capers on November 18, 1911.
Mollie passed away in Huntsville, Texas at the age of 97 on November 19, 2008. Hudge and Mollie were married for fifty-three years. They lived in San Jacinto County and raised three sons, Julius "Shorty", Robert “Bubba” and Morris "Punk".
Mollie was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She was loved by all and will be missed dearly.
Mollie is survived by sons Shorty and wife, Nita Currie of Oakhurst, TX; Bubba and wife Joyce Currie of College Station, TX and daughter-in-law Dorothy Currie of Huffman, TX. Grandchildren are, Linda Blanks, Kim Shotts, Cathy Johnson, Gary Currie, Keven Currie, David Currie, and Craig Currie. Great-grandchildren are Susan Anthony, Julie Purvis, Leigh Ann Hollis, Katherine Johnson, Chase Currie, Brittany Shotts, Harlan Johnson II, Shelby Currie, Michael Johnson, Logan Currie and Reagan Currie. Great-great grandchildren are Katie Parker, Destiny Richmond, Justin Anthony, Chasity Newsome, Austin Anthony, Makenzie Purvis, and Kolton Purvis. Brothers and sister are; T. L. Capers, Charles Capers, Mary Lou Pridgen, J. M. Capers, Jimmy Capers, and numerous nieces, nephews and many friends.
Mollie was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Hudge, son Morris "Punk", two brothers, four sisters and great-great granddaughter Alexis Purvis.
Funeral services will be held Saturday November 22, 2008 at 10 AM at the Sam Houston Memorial Funeral Home Chapel in Huntsville, Texas. Interment will follow at Center Hill Cemetery in Oakhurst, TX. The family will receive friends
Friday November 21, 2008 from 5:30 to 7:30 PM at the funeral home.
Serving as pallbearers are Gary Currie, Keven Currie, David Currie, Craig Currie, Chase Currie, Harlan Johnson, II, and Michael Johnson. Honorary pallbearers are Logan Currie, Justin Anthony, Austin Anthony and Kolton Purvis.
