Edra Lee Koenig Leonard
Lee went to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, Friday February 10, 2012. She was born in Mobile, Alabama to Charles and Edra Shake. At the age of 15, she left Alabama to live in Houston. She married Charlie Koenig, Jr. They were married for 25 years and had four daughters. She married John T. Leonard in 1975 and was married until his death in 1988. She remained in Houston until moving to Willis in 1999 to be closer to her children. In Houston, she was a member of the Memorial Dr First United Methodist Church. After moving, she became a member of First United Methodist Church of Willis. Lee lived life to the fullest and always saw the silver lining in a dark cloud. She was a wonderful mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. Her greatest gift and pleasure was her family.
She was preceded in death by husband, Charlie Koenig, Jr., daughters Linda Maire, Valora Lee, Cynthia Diane, great-grandson Vinnie Cefalu, and husband John Leonard. She is survived by her sister, Margaret Young, daughter Vonnie and son-in-law James Hasara. Grandchildren, Crystall and husband Vince Cefalu, Brett Hasara and wife Karen, and Heather Hasara. Great-grandchildren, Tayler and Gavin Foster, Blaze, Seth, and Kaleb Hasara, Hailey, Levi, and Xander Cefalu.
You are invited to celebrate her life Friday, February 17th, 12:00 noon at the First United Methodist Church of Willis, 200 N. Thomason. Memorials may be donated to the First United Methodist Church of Willis, P.O. Box 315, Willis, TX 77378. Condolences to the family may be left on the website of Sam Houston Memorial Funeral Home in Willis at www.shmfh.com.
