Tommie Jane Fair Turnbull, 67, passed away on Sunday, January 30, 2011, in Willis, Texas. Tommie was born on May 20, 1943 in Dowagiac Michigan to Thomas and Doris Fair. As a young woman, Tommie worked for Pepsi, where she met life-long friends. Later, she worked as a key-punch operator, data entry clerk, and help-desk operator before retiring.
Tommie will be remembered for the whole-hearted and unconditional love she gave not only to family and friends. When her own children were very young, she took in foster babies in Chicago, Illinois. She found great joy in giving generously to Toys for Tots and to nursing homes. For fun, she particularly enjoyed trips to Las Vegas, the Louisiana Casinos, and cruises with the love of her life and her husband of 30 years, Larry Turnbull. Never was there a woman who doted on her grandchildren quite the way Tommie did. She was above all a loving wife, mother, sister, daughter, and friend.
Tommie leaves to cherish her memory her husband Larry Turnbull and her mother Doris Fair of Willis, TX; her sister, Cindy Nash, of Racine, WI; her brother Craig Fair of Michigan; her son, Paul Burgess (Willis, TX), and daughter, Aimee Burgess Felio (Spring, TX). Tommie’s memory will be treasured by her three grandchildren who were the apples of her eye: Amanda Burgess & Adam Felio of Spring, TX, and Mathew Burgess of Dallas, TX. Beloved nephews and nieces include Erik Nash, Katie & Christopher Eckhoff of Racine WI, and Jaimee Baker-Sexton and Jori Baker of Tampa, FL.
Tommie was preceded in death by her father, Thomas Fair, and her sister, Jacki Baker-Richard.
