  VIEW/SEND CONDOLENCES

Joseph Lee Ferro, 65, of Willis, TX died Saturday, July 25, 2009 in his home from an unexpected heart attack. Joe leaves behind his son Thomas and wife Stacy; his son Dennis and wife Amy; grandchildren Lauren Mikele Ferro, Tyler Matthew Ferro, Haley Kate Ferro and Zell Ryan Ferro; sisters Mary Goertz, Margaret Bell and Elisabeth White; and a world of many friends. Joe was preceded in death by his parents, Lee and Martha Ferro and his son, Ronny.
Joe, born on October 31, 1943 in Houston, TX, graduated from Jones High School. In his early years Joe worked for Napko paint company and then became an independent paint contractor. In 1971, Joe moved his family to Tomball, TX where he opened a western wear store. A few years later he closed the store and became a manufacturer’s representative with Montana Silversmith where he spent over 20 years.
Joe was an avid hunter and fisherman and spent much of his off time with family and friends in the woods or on the water. Joe would carry a fishing pole with him while he traveled and make cast at any body of water he found. Joe’s love for the woods and water took him from his home in Tomball to a lakefront home on Pelican Island on Lake Conroe in 1996. Joe spent many days chasing the bass and stripers that lived in Lake Conroe.
Joe was diagnosed with Parkinson’s Disease in his late 30’s and as it progressed over the years, the hunting and fishing became more difficult. Joe retired from the western wear industry and found a new love, golf, and moved to Texas National golf course where he spent his remaining years. Not only did he enjoy swinging the club but he also added many others to his long list of friends.
