Kenneth W. Lucher, beloved son, brother and friend, passed away May 2, 2009. Kenneth was born June 3, 1940. He was preceded in death by his father William A. Lucher and brother Johnnie F. Lucher. Survivors include his mother Sybil M. Lucher; sisters Sylvia Lucher and Connie Burns; brother Terry Lucher; 1 niece and 3 nephews and their children; aunts, uncles, cousins and his many close friends. Kenneth had various careers as a carpenter, farmer and tugboat cook. He worked at Cameron Ironworks, SHSU, and retired from the Walker County Road department. Kenneth was a member of the Knights of Columbus. He will be greatly missed by all that met him and knew him. Funeral Services will be Thursday, May 7 at 11 AM at St. Joseph Catholic Church in New Waverly, with interment following services at Elmina Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 6 PM on Wednesday, May 6 at Sam Houston Memorial Funeral Home in Willis, with the Rosary beginning at 7:30 PM. Pallbearers will be Henry Gregory, Victor Cryer, Bill Gregory, Freddie Buckner, Michael Hesse, and Paul Gregory. Honorary Pallbearers are Martin Slott, Dennis Ripkowski and Thomas Podraza.
