He took her hands and said “follow me” and that is exactly what she did.
He promised her a better life without the hurt and pain as she followed him to her new home. Our mom Wendy Lynn Snipes went to be with our lord on February 27, 2009 after a long and brave battle with Lung Cancer. Wendy worked many years managing Western Auto in Willis, TX. Wendy was born on June 16, 1955 in Cleveland, TX and passed away on February 27, 2009 in Huntsville, TX. Wendy lived a fulfilled life with her loving & devoted husband Lyle “Gene” Snipes and her beloved daughters Angela Lucas (John Nabors), Shannon Sawyer (Jean Petillon), and Heather and Brian Smallwood. She is the loving daughter to Bertha and Harold Burson and step mother Jane Brown. She leaves her siblings Connie & Mike Davis, Michael Brown and sister in law Melissa Burson. She has 7 loving grandchildren in which she adored Tanner, Tori, Kaitlyn, Bailey, Haley, Joel, and Caleigh. Wendy also had two life long friends Sandy Jenkins and Violet Blackman. She is preceded in death by her Father Leland Brown, Grandfather George Stowe, Grandmother Mae Sunday, Sister Diane Cox, and Brother Harold Burson Jr. She also has numerous Aunts, Uncles, Nieces, Nephews, and Friends that simply adore her.

The visitation for Mrs. Snipes family and friends will be at Sam Houston Memorial Funeral Home in Willis on March 2, 2009 from 6:00 pm-8:00 pm. Services for Mrs. Snipes will be held at 1:00pm March 3,2009.

The family would like to say a special thanks to Aunt Lynn and Johnny Hastings, Darrel and Marcella Wells, Wayne and Ann Rainwater, Sam & Kay Page, Mr. & Mrs. Gary Boehn, Hospice and all the doctors and staff at the University Cancer Center.
