Joe Bill Stone, Sr. passed away December 2, 2008. Arrangements entrusted to Sam Houston Memorial Funeral Home in Willis. Joe was born May 12, 1923 in Childress, Texas and grew up in Quanah, Texas. He was a WWII Veteran, a retired member of IATSE Local 279, a fifty year member of Pasadena Masonic Lodge #1155 and San Jacinto Lodge #106, and a faithful member of First United Methodist Church of Willis. Joe is survived by his loving wife of 58 years Lucille Stone; his three sons, Bill Stone, Jr. and wife Melissa, Bob Stone and wife Pam, and Wayne Stone and wife Judi; 12 grandchildren; 1 great-grandchild; special family member Susan Stone; sister Doris Dunn of Palm Springs, CA; brother David Stone of Miami, FL; and numerous nephews, nieces and friends. A memorial service officiated by Rev. Jeff Gantz will be held at First United Methodist Church of Willis on Friday, December 5 at 11 AM. The family suggests memorial contributions to be made to First United Methodist Church of Willis in Joe’s honor.
