John E. Broderick, 80, passed away on Thursday, May 10, 2007 at his home. He dedicated his career to education. He began as a teacher at Struthers High School. In Fremont, Ohio he held positions at Vanguard Vocational High School and as President of Terra Technical College. He retired from Columbus State and as a consultant with the Ohio Department of Technical Education.
He received a B.S. from Youngstown State College, M.B.A. from New York University and a PhD in Higher Education from Toledo University. He was a member of Knights of Columbus, St. Andrew Church and enjoyed sports, especially golfing at the Ohio State University courses. He was a veteran of the Merchant Marines in World War II and the U.S. Army Korean conflict.
Preceded in death by parents, William and Beatrice and brothers, Robert, Carl, William and Donald. Survived by wife of 51 years, Gloria (De Angelis); daughters, Sharon (Richard) Keck of Boulder, CO and their children, Richard and Ellen and Lynn Marie (Scott) Savage and their
children, Claire and Matthew and Jacqueline (Scott) Patton and their children, Mark and Everett all of Columbus, OH; sister, Avenale MacDougal of Youngstown, OH. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30AM, Monday, May 14,
2007 at St. Andrew Catholic Church, 1899 McCoy Rd., Columbus, OH 43221. Fr. Michael Watson, celebrant. Burial will be later. Family and friends may call 2-5PM, Sunday at RUTHERFORD FUNERAL HOME AT POWELL, 450 W. Olentangy St.
