Barbara Brittain Brown, 82, of Worthington, passed away October 20, 2007. Barbara was born and raised in Akron, OH and formerly resided in Granville, OH. She was preceded in death by her husband Charles E. Brown, parents Herbert and Esther Brittain of Akron and sister Jeanne Rittenour of Akron. She is survived by her children, Sandy (John) Sackmann of Seven Lakes, NC, Leah (Joe) Polis of Worthington, Don (Bonnie) Crouse of Carpinteria, CA, Dan (Lorraine) Crouse of Salt Lake City, UT; step-children, Jeffrey (Rita) Brown, Brian (Becky) Brown, and Douglas Brown of Columbus; grandchildren, Tara Bradham, Cynthia Sackmann, Lisa Leach, Aaron Crouse, Tyler Crouse; step-grandchildren, Nicole Brown, Christopher Brown, and Jessica Brown; great-grandchildren, Meredith and Joey Leach; sister, Millie Robertson; and brother, Herb (Bettyann) Brittain; as well as many nieces and nephews. Barbara was a graduate of the Akron City Hospital School of Nursing, class of 1946. During her life Barbara was a devoted mother, friend, homemaker, Registered Nurse and hospital administrator. She loved spending time with family and friends cooking, playing golf, tennis, and bridge. A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, October 23, 2007, at RUTHERFORD-CORBIN FUNERAL HOME, 515 High St., Worthington, OH 43085, 885-4006 beginning at 5 pm. In lieu of flowers, please make contributions to the Charles E. Brown Memorial Scholarship Fund, Moritz College of Law at The Ohio State University or Charity Newsies.
