George Daniel Betz, age 88, of Columbus, passed away Friday, July 6, 2007 at the Laurels of Worthington Nursing Home. He was a retired machinist and World War II US Army Veteran. Preceded in death by his parents, John F. and Carrie A. (Robinson) Betz; sisters, Mary Walters, Martha Ward and Rachel Turner; brother, John F. Betz. His survivors include his sister-in-law, Juanita Betz; and many nieces and nephews. He was a long-time member of Chicago Avenue Christian Church and the McDowell Senior Citizens. A funeral service will be held 1:00 p.m. Monday, July 9, 2007at RUTHERFORD-SHROYER FUNERAL HOME, 1278 W. Broad St., Columbus, OH 43222 with Rev. Jim Will officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens. Friends may call on Monday from 11:00 a.m. until time of service. Memorial contributions may be made to either: Chicago Avenue Christian Church or the Alzheimer’s Association of Central Ohio in George’s memory.
