Beatrice (Bea-Bea) Ottie Henry, 72, a resident of the Town of Poughkeepsie, New York passed away peacefully on July 7, 2008 at Kaplan Family Hospice Residence in Newburgh, New York.
Along with her impeccable sense of style, Bea-Bea exemplified grace and elegance standing out amongst all those who knew and loved her.
Born in Manhattan, New York on April 16, 1936 . She was the daughter of Annie Payne and the late Alfred Payne, Sr. On July 25, 1959, she married Thomas MacDonald Henry, Sr. at St. Augustine Baptist Church in Manhattan, New York. Thomas and Beatrice would have celebrated 49 years of marriage on July 25, 2008.
Beatrice’s employment career started at Columbia Records in Manhattan, New York. Upon relocating to the Poughkeepsie Area, she was employed as a Paraprofessional Aide for the Poughkeepsie School District. Her last employment was at IBM in Poughkeepsie as a Secretary, she retired in April 1976.
In addition to her Loving and Devoted husband, Thomas MacDonald Henry, Sr. at home; Beatrice is survived by her One and Only son, Thomas Mac Donald Henry, Jr. of Poughkeepsie; Mother, Annie Anderson Payne of Fishkill, New York; Daughter-in-law, Karen Henry of the state of Florida; Two granddaughters, Carlissa Henry of Phoenix, Arizona and Ashley Henry of Poughkeepsie; Brother, Alfred Payne, Jr. and wife Cassandra of Queens, New York; Brother and Sister-in-law, Jerry and Melissa Henry; Sister-in-law, Shirley Henry all of Poughkeepsie. Several nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and many friends. She was predeceased by Father, Alfred Payne, Sr., Father and Mother-in-law, Garry Henry, Sr. and MaryEllen, Aunts, Ida, Lizzie, Catharine, Dorothy, Margaret, Ethel and Alice, Two sisters-in-law, Geraldine Henry and Loretta Roberts and Brother-in-law, Garry Henry, Jr.

Reverend Jesse V. Bottoms, Jr. will officiate.

Interment will be at Poughkeepsie Rural Cemetery Poughkeepsie, New York.
