| Donald Holman, a resident of Poughkeepsie, NY entered into eternal rest on Saturday April 5, 2008 at Vassar Brothers Medical Center.
He was retired from the City of Poughkeepsie School District. Born in Salt Point, NY, November 16, 1931. Son of the late William and Mary Palmer Holman. He was a 1949 graduate of Franklin Delano Roosevelt High School. He served in the United States Army in the 42nd Airborne infantry. He is survived by three daughters, Pastor Donna (Roosevelt) Dancey, Poughkeepsie, NY, Terri Holman, Albany, NY and Mary Holman, Poughkeepsie, NY. Five sons, David Holman, Sullivan County, Donald (Desiree) Holman, James Holman, Michael (Romonda) Holman, Poughkeepsie, NY and Derek (Addie) Holman, Albany, NY. Two sisters, Bertha Edgerton and Evelyn Spencer, Poughkeepsie, NY. His companion Barbara Smith and a special daughter Susan Lyons. Forty Three grandchildren and forty-eight Great-Grandchildren. Several nieces , nephews, cousins and a host of friends. He was predeceased by his parents, Brothers, Eugene and William (Chet) and James Holman. Sisters, Margaret Hancock, Mary Johnson, Dorothy Lee and Anna Oates. Rev. Jesse V. Bottoms, Officiating. Cremation will be at the convenience of the family. | ||
