Sharon A. Underwood, 61, of 2137 Southwestern Dr., Lakewood, died at 8:00 A.M. Saturday March 10, 2012, in WCA Hospital.
She was born May 18, 1950 in St. Marys, Pa., the daughter of Nicholas and Irene Laird Grasser. A graduate of Cameron County High School in Emporium, Pa., she had also attended Lock Haven University.
Sharon had been employed as a Senior Records Specialist at West Valley Nuclear Services. In earlier years she had worked at the Pearl Harbor Naval Shipyard in Hawaii.
She had attended Sacred Heart Catholic Church, and was a member of Lake Eire PT Cruisers and North Coast PT Cruisers.
A person with great attention to detail, Sharon enjoyed organizing and planning all family activities. She also enjoyed car shows, fishing, and antique sales.
Surviving are her husband, Craig R. Underwood, whom she married Sept. 16, 1972 in Emporium, Pa.; two daughters: Nikki (Jim) Christ of Jamestown, and Jennifer (Rob) Hamilton of Nicholasville, Ky.; three grandchildren: Madison, Jimmy, and Jake Christ, all of Jamestown; a sister, Doris Distler of Hinkley, Ill.; two brothers: Dennis and James Grasser, both of Emporium, Pa.; her in-laws, Clarence and Doris Underwood of Sinclairville; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers: George and Pete Grasser.
A reception to celebrate Sharon’s life will be held at the family home, 2137 Southwestern Dr., Lakewood, from 2:00 to 6:00 P.M. on Saturday, March 17. To send a message to the family, visit www.presentsixbeyfuneral.com.
