| | | HAWARDEN, IOWA- LeAnn Swift, 66, of Hawarden, died suddenly on Thursday, October 30, 2008 at the St. Lukes Regional Medical Center in Sioux City.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m. Monday at St. Marys Catholic Church in Hawarden with Father Roger Linnan officiating. Burial will follow in the Grace Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be from noon to 4 p.m. Sunday at Porter Funeral Home in Hawarden with a Prayer Service at 7 p.m. at the St. Marys Catholic Church. LeAnn Swift was born October 17, 1942 in Hawarden, Iowa, the daughter of Walter M. and Evelyn L. (Wasser) Treiber. She attended rural school for 8 years and graduated from West Sioux High School in 1960, and then went to Stewarts Beauty School in Sioux City.
LeAnn married Marlo Green in 1963. To this marriage two daughters were born, Dana and Jill. LeAnn married Brian Swift in 1993. She has been a beautician in Hawarden for 45 years.
She was a member of St. Marys Catholic Church and St. Marys Guild. LeAnn loved being a Grandma, enjoyed golfing, reading, chatting with all of her friends on the phone, and Sunday dinners with her family.
She is survived by her husband, Brian; two daughters, Dana Curiel and her son Joshua, and Jill Vander Feen and her husband Evan, and their children Chase, Hannah, and Tucker all of Hawarden; a brother, Ron Treiber and his wife Becky of Alcester, South Dakota; two sisters, Karen Vock and husband Jim of Sergeant Bluff, Iowa and Cindy Lynott and husband Jim of Hawarden; her father-in-law, Dick Swift of Hawarden; and many nieces, nephews, family and friends.
LeAnn was preceded in death by her parents; grandson, baby Eric; mother-in-law, Belle Swift; and a special friend, Melba Stickel.
