| | | Hudson, SD – Della Angle, 97, died Thursday, December 7, 2006 at Bethesda Nursing Facility, Beresford. Funeral service will be on Monday at 10:30am, United Church of Christ, Hudson. Burial will be at Eden Cemetery. Reverend Nancy Jacobsen will officiate. Visitation will be Sunday with family present from 3-5 p.m. and prayer service at 4:30 p.m. at Porter Funeral Home, Hudson. Della Angle was born May 11, 1909 to Bert and Emma (Fossum) McCormick in Union County, SD. She attended rural schools in Union County and graduated from Beresford High School in 1928. She completed a course at Nettleton Business School in Sioux Falls. Della married Jay Angle in 1934 and he died in 1965. She married Roy Angle in 1966. Roy died in 1981. Della worked for the Hudsonite Newspaper, Hudson Library, Beresford Telephone Company and for 17 years at the Hudson Drug store before retiring. She enjoyed ceramics, reading, gardening, crafts, dancing and spending time with family. Della was also a member of the United Church of Christ in Hudson.
Della is survived by two sisters: Ruby Gregerson of Las Vegas, NV, and Doris Gilmore of Altaville, CA; nieces and nephews: Mary Gayer, Sioux Falls, SD; Janet (Eldean) Hartman, Alcester, SD; Judy (Ed) Iken, Sauk Rapids, MN; Karen (Don) Nelson of Beresford, SD; Gary (Zolly) McCormick of Sioux Falls, SD; Kay (Joe) Fielding of Dallas, OR; Stacy Cook of Phoenix, AZ; Diane Gilmore of Altaville, CA; and Camie Gilmore of CA.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husbands, Jay Angle and Roy Angle; brothers: Lloyd McCormick, Delbert McCormick, Dale McCormick; sister, Betty Cook.
