| | | Rock Valley, IA: Roger Bannick, 74, of Rock Valley, died suddenly Tuesday, June 27, 2006 at Avera McKennan Hospital, Sioux Falls. Memorial Service 11 am Friday at First Reformed Church, Rock Valley. Burial prior at Valley View Cemetery. Rev. Mike Van Hamersveld will be officiating. Visitation will begin noon Thursday with family present 7-8:30 pm at Porter Funeral Home, Rock Valley. Memorials may be directed to Hope Haven of Rock Valley.
Roger was born October 20, 1931 at Ashton, IA, son of William and Hattie (Johnson) Bannick. He farmed with his father before he married Jeanette Vander Streek on April 3, 1963 at the First Reformed Church at Rock Valley, IA. Together they farmed SW of Rock Valley until retirement in 1990 when they moved into Rock Valley. Jeanette died on March 13, 2001.
Roger was survived by his daughter, Clara Bannick of Rock Valley; sister, Linda (Donald) Andersen of Sheldon, IA; brother-in-law,Gerrit (Minerva) Vander Streek of Rock Rapids, IA; sisters-in-law, Henrietta (Bernie) Lamfers of Sheldon, Jessie (Orville) Landaal of Worthington, MN, Caroline (Gradus) Kuipers of Hull, IA.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Jeanette.
