| | | Rock Valley, IA – Anne Attema, 87, died Wednesday, May 31, 2006 at Pleasant Acres Care Center, Hull, IA. Funeral service will be 2:30 p.m., Friday at Porter Funeral Chapel, Rock Valley. Burial will be at Valley View Cemetery, Rock Valley. Reverend Marvin Van Donselaar will officiate. Visitation with the family will be 1 hour prior to the service on Friday at the funeral home.
Anne Attema was born July 29, 1918 to Pier and Bertha (Van Duyn) Attema on a farm near Sioux Center, IA. Their family moved to a farm near Rock Valley in 1920. Anne attended country school. Anne spent most all her life caring for her family. She was a lifelong member of First Christian Reformed Church, Rock Valley.
Anne is survived by a brother, Art Attema of Rock Valley; a sister, Agnes Rasmussen of Hull; sisters-in-law: Clarissa Attema of Acworth, GA, Henrietta Olsen of Sioux Center, IA; 2 nieces and 6 nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers: Gerrit, Lane, Jake and Tony Attema; sister-in-law, Hillene Attema and brother-in-law, Levi Rasmussen.
