| | | HAWARDEN, IOWA- BRUCE G. BOYER, 69, of Hawarden, Iowa died Tuesday, March 7, 2006 at the Department of Veterans Affairs Hospital in Sioux Falls, South Dakota.
Funeral Service will be 1:30 p.m. Saturday at the Porter Funeral Home in Hawarden with Rev. Todd Bunge officiating. Burial will follow at the Grace Hill Cemetery with Military Rites by the Hawarden VFW and American Legion. Visitation will begin at noon Friday, with a Prayer Service at 7 p.m. Friday at the Porter Funeral Home in Hawarden.
Bruce Boyer was born December 16, 1936 near Hudson, South Dakota, the son of LeDru and Ella (Hout) Boyer. He was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith. Bruce graduated from Hudson High School and served in the US Army from 1956-1958 in the Korean War. He worked at LG Everist Sand and Gravel and also at Coilcraft. He made his home at the Hillcrest Health Care Center in Hawarden for many years prior to his death.
He is survived by a daughter, Brenda Watkins of Hawarden; three sons, Rick (Joann) of Hawarden, Alan (Patti) of Cherokee, Iowa and Philip (Gail) of Sioux Falls, South Dakota; 14 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. Also surviving are six brothers and three sisters.
He was preceded in death by a son, Elvis; two brothers, Gaile and Herb and his parents.
