| | | Hawarden, Iowa- Ralph A. Bos was born March 27, 1928 at Hawarden, Iowa, the son of John and Grace (Schotnus) Bos. He married Delores (Goodrich) Rich on December 15, 1972 at Elk Point, South Dakota. They made their home in Hawarden. Ralph was employed as a farm hand and later in construction. He was a truck driver and also drove school bus.
Ralph enjoyed reading, visiting with others, and was known for his mischievous sense of humor.
He died Thursday, November 24, 2005 at the Hawarden Community Hospital at the age of 77 years.
Ralph is survived by his wife, Delores; three step children, Lindy Rich and wife Renee and Randy Rich and wife Diane all of South Sioux City, Nebraska and Rita Martin and husband Denny of Hawarden; 7 step grandchildren; 9 step-great-grandchildren; 6 brothers, Richard of Artesia, California, Wilbur of Beresford, South Dakota, Henry of Mitchell, South Dakota, John of Yankton, South Dakota, Clarence of Renner, South Dakota and Andrew of Yankton, South Dakota; 2 sisters, Elsie Waterbury of Minneapolis, Minnesota and Jeanette Van Liere of Dell Rapids, South Dakota; several nephews and nieces.
Ralph was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Charles; sister, Margaret Halbert; and uncle, John Schotanus.
