IRETON, IOWA- JARED PETER BOOTSMA, 29, of Grand Island, Nebraska, formerly
of Ireton, Iowa, died suddenly of Saturday, April 16, 2005 in a farm accident at his acreage near Hawarden, Iowa.
Funeral Service will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Hawarden with Rev. Todd Bunge officiating. Burial will follow in the Grace Hill Cemetery at Hawarden. Visitation will be from noon to 4:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Porter Funeral Home in Hawarden. A Prayer Service will be at 7 p.m. followed by visitation with the family until 8:30 p.m. at the church.
Jared Peter Bootsma was born February 5, 1976 at Sioux Center, Iowa, the son of Calvin and Patsy (Mars) Bootsma. He attended Ireton Christian School and graduated from Unity High School in 1994. He attended Mitchell Technical Institute in Mitchell, South Dakota. Jared married Christa Aldrich on June 1, 2002 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Hawarden, Iowa.
He had been employed at AgCo Corporation in Jackson, Minnesota (2001-2004), Demco Manufacturing at Boyden, Iowa (2004), and most recently employed as a Senior Design Technician at the Case New Holland Rotary Combine Facility in Grand Island, Nebraska.
Jared enjoyed farming, snowmobiling and spending time with his family.
He is survived by his wife, Christa of Grand Island; parents, Calvin and Patsy Bootsma of Ireton; 2 sisters, Mary Jo and husband David Clark of Merrill, Iowa and Karen and husband Brad Paulsen of Granville, Iowa; brother, Carl Bootsma and wife Karoline of Sioux Falls, South Dakota; his parents-in-law, Duane and Carol Aldrich of Hawarden; sister-in-law, Cindy Pottebaum of LeMars, Iowa; brother-in-law, David Aldrich and wife Shelly of Hawarden; 4 nephews and a niece, Gabriel Clark, Tyler and Jacob Pottebaum, Cory and Madison Aldrich; his grandparents, Peter and Johanna Bootsma of Sanborn, Iowa, Nettie Mars of Orange City, Iowa and Florence Feikema of Hawarden; and many other families and friends.
Jared was preceded in death by his grandfather, Peter Mars and 3 cousins.
