| | | HAWARDEN, IOWA- Jack Breugem, 61, of Hawarden, Iowa passed away on Wednesday, January 26, 2005 at the Sioux Center Community Hospital in Sioux Center following a brief illness.
Memorial Service will be held Saturday, January 29, 2005 at 2:30 p.m. at the Porter Funeral Home in Hawarden with Rev. Todd Bunge officiating. A private burial will be held prior to the service with Military Rites by the Hawarden American Legion and VFW.
Jack Breugem was born February 9, 1943 at Hudson, South Dakota, the son of Henry and Sadie (Keizer) Breugem. He attended country school and graduated from Hudson High School in 1961.
Jack served in the US Air Force from 1964 to 1968. He was a proud member of the Air Force Honor Guard. On May 2, 1975 he married Carol Emmers at the Congregational Church in Hudson. They made their home in Lino Lakes, Minnesota. Carol passed away in 1992 and Jack moved to Hawarden in 1998.
Jack was currently employed as a custodian for the Sioux Center Community School.
Those that survive and cherish his memory include five sisters and their husbands, Martha and Howard Beer of Canton, South Dakota, Gertrude and Eldred Scott of Galt, California, Margie and Ron Jager of Rock Valley, Iowa, Millie and Ron Sorlye of Hawarden and Retta and Jerry Anderson of Chatsworth, Iowa; two brothers and their wives, Jim and Zoe Breugem of Tuscaloosa, Alabama and John and Janene Breugem of Hawarden; also many nieces and nephews.
Jack was preceded in death by his wife, Carol and parents, Henry and Sadie Breugem.
