| | | HAWARDEN, IOWA- PHYLLIS J. ANDERSON, 73, of Hawarden, Iowa died Monday, January 10, 2005 at the Hillcrest Health Care Center in Hawarden.
Memorial Service will be 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, January 18th at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Hawarden with Rev. Todd Bunge officiating. Burial of the cremated remains will follow in the Grace Hill Cemetery at Hawarden. Porter Funeral Home of Hawarden is in charge of the arrangements.
Phyllis J. Anderson was born June 21, 1931 near Hawarden, Iowa, the daughter of Jacob and Olga (Ball) Hoogland. She lived in St. Peter, Minnesota for many years where she was employed in a factory. Phyllis returned to Hawarden for a short time before she moved to Ireton, Iowa. In July of 2000 she became a resident of the Hillcrest Health Care Center in Hawarden.
Phyllis enjoyed doing crafts, crocheting and embroidery, and made many kitchen towels, which she gave to family and friends. She grew up attending the Trinity Lutheran Church in Hawarden and was currently a member of the St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Ireton.
Those who mourn her death are 3 sisters, Elwanda Willer of Phoenix, Arizona, Neva Van Donge of Ireton, Iowa and Iona Harms of Henderson, Nevada; and nephews and nieces.
Phyllis was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Ralph “Bud” Hoogland of Ireton; and 2 sisters, Shirley Harvey of Greeley, Colorado and Betty Jean Hoogland who died at the age of 3 years.
