| | | Rock Valley, IA – Clarence Bakker, 57, our lovely brother and uncle went to be with his Lord on Saturday, June 16, 2007 at his sister, Gert Busby’s home in Rock Valley. Funeral service will be 10:30 a.m., Wednesday at Porter Funeral Home, Rock Valley. Burial will be at Valley View Cemetery, Rock Valley. Reverend Gene Vis will officiate.
Clarence Bakker was born on March 6, 1950 to Gys and Johanna (De Kam) Bakker on a farm north of Rock Valley. In 1988, Clarence moved with his parents to his sister, Gert Busby’s home in Rock Valley where he lived for 20 years. He was a lifetime member of First Christian Reformed Church, Rock Valley. Clarence enjoyed reading books, watching television, listening to the radio and especially spending time with his nieces and nephews and great-nieces and nephews.
Clarence is survived by his brothers: Gus (Donna) Bakker of Hull, IA, John (Joyce) Bakker and Albert (Carolyn) Bakker all of Rock Valley; sisters: Bertha (Francis) Leloux of Rock Valley, Nellie (Al) Keizer and Goldie Veldman all of Hull, Jo (Robert) Catchot of Norfolk, VA and Gert Busby and her children: Buzz (Missy) Busby, Trudy (Eric) Weber and their familes all of Rock Valley.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Lena Bakker; brother-in-law, Gerrit Veldman; 2 nephews.
