| | | Lucille Mast, 88, of Mt. Pleasant, formerly of Wayland, IA, died Monday, March 26, 2012, at the Park Place Long Term Care Unit in Mt. Pleasant.
Visitation will begin after 9:00 a.m. on Friday, March 30th, at the Olson-Powell Memorial Chapel. The family will receive friends from 9:30 – 10:30 a.m. at the Memorial Chapel. The funeral service will follow at 10:30 a.m., with Pastor Gerry Klopfenstein officiating. Interment will be in the Center Cemetery. Memorials have been established to the WACO Athletic Booster Club and the Center Cemetery.
Born February 25, 1924, in Wayland, IA, Lucille Aldine was the daughter of Alfred H. and Bessie Mae (Orn) Keith. She was a 1941 graduate of Mt. Pleasant Community High School. On December 3, 1942, she married Johenry Mast at the Finley Chapel United Methodist Church. He preceded her in death on June 17, 2006.
Lucille led a very busy life as a farm wife and homemaker, while raising four children. She was the owner/operator of the Highway 78 Café in Wayland. For many years Lucille drove a school bus and was the secretary to the superintendent at the WACO Community School.
A civic minded person, Lucille was a member of the Wayland United Methodist Church, Eastern Star and a 50 year member of TTT. She was involved in numerous other community activities and organizations. She enjoyed being an active participant in the Wayland Coffee Club.
Lucille is survived by two sons, Gary (Carol) Mast of Redlands, CA, and Steve (Sharon) Mast of Mt. Pleasant, IA; two daughters, Kathy (Rick) Adrian of Mt. Pleasant, IA, and Lorrie (Randy) Roth of Wayland, IA; eleven grandchildren and twenty great grandchildren. She is also survived by a brother, Marvin (Billie) Keith of New London, IA; and a sister, Mary Francis (Dwight) Graber of Crawfordsville, IA.
Preceding her in death, were her parents; her husband, Johenry; a brother, Theron Keith; two sisters, Thelma Keith and Dorthea Brooks; and a grandson, Darren Blair.
