Elmer B. Erickson, age 84, of Menomonie, WI died Thursday, October 02, 2003 in Menomonie. He was born Feb. 7, 1919 in the Town of New Haven, Dunn Co., WI to Erick and Betsy (Knutson) Erickson. He attended Forest Grove School. During W.W. II, Elmer served in the U.S. Army, in the South Pacific. Elmer married the former Hazel Gordon on March 18, 1947 in Hudson, WI. They lived in Menomonie, and Elmer worked as a custodian at Memorial Hospital and later Myrtle Werth Hospital in Menomonie, where he set a standard for steady, reliable and excellent service. Elmer was a member of Christ Lutheran Church and also enjoyed time spent with friends at the Senior Center, in his later years. Elmer is survived by: A daughter, Andrea (John) Sundstrom of New Douglas, IL A son, Ronald Erickson of Menomonie 4 grandchildren 1 sister, Hazel Husby of Minnesota 1 brother, Melvin Erickson of Barron Other relatives and friends He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Hazel; 2 brothers, Clarence and Norman; and a sister, Margaret who died as a child. Funeral services will be at 11:00 AM Monday, Oct. 6, 2003 at Christ Lutheran Church in Menomonie, with Rev. Rolf Morck officiating. Burial will be in Christ Lutheran/Halvorson Cemetery also in Menomonie. Friends and relatives may call at the church from 10:00 AM Monday until the time of the service. Olson Funeral Home in Menomonie is handling arrangements. | ||
