|Kathryn Schaap, age 85, of Sheldon, Iowa, passed away on Saturday, November 5, 2005, at Northwest Iowa Health Center in Sheldon.
Funeral services will be Tuesday, November 8, 2005, at 10:30 A.M. at First Christian Reformed Church in Sheldon. Rev. Greg Timmer and Rev. Brian Bolkema officiating.
Burial in East Lawn Cemetery in Sheldon.
Visitation will be Monday, November 7, from 4-9 P.M. with the family present from 7-8:30 P.M. at Andringa Funeral Home Sheldon Funeral Service in Sheldon.
Kathryn Schaap, was born on October 28, 1920, in Sioux Center, Iowa, the daughter of John and Adrianna (DeStigter) Visser. She lived her youth in Sioux Center where she attended Christian Grade School and Public High School.
She was united in marriage to Wallace Schaap of Orange City, Iowa, on September 12, 1940, in Sioux Center. They lived in Alton and Sutherland, Iowa, until 1953, when they moved to Sheldon, Iowa. Wallace and Kathryn enjoyed traveling and spent many winters in Florida and Arizona. They had many good times with friends and family. Wallace passed away on January 14, 2003.
Kathryn was a faithful member of the First Christian Reformed Church in Sheldon where she was a member of the Golden Hour Society. She was also a member of the Christian School Auxiliary.
Kathryn was a loving and supportive wife and dedicated mother, grandmother and great grandmother.
She passed away on Saturday, November 5, 2005, at the Northwest Iowa Health Center in Sheldon, at the age of 85 years and 7 days.
Those left to cherish her memories are one daughter and son-in-law: Yvonne and Harlan Bolkema of Sheldon, IA; 3 sons and daughters-in-law: Darrell and Twyla Schaap of Milford, IA, Arlyn and Beatrice Schaap of Orange City, IA, Lyle and Barbara Schaap of Sioux Falls, SD; 16 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; 2 sisters-in-law: Gertrude Visser of Sioux Center, IA, Jean Visser of Denver, CO.
She was preceded in death by her husband: Wallace; 3 grandchildren: Michael Schaap, Daniel Schaap, and Jana Schaap; 4 brothers: Peter Visser, Leonard Visser, Thomas Visser, and John Visser; half sister: Ann Visser Bratt
