Mason City- Steven Dean “Trapp” Trappe 44, died Wednesday, June 11, 2008, at Mercy Medical Center North Iowa, Mason City.

Funeral services will be held 1:30 P.M. Tuesday, June 17, 2008, at St. James Lutheran Church, 1148 4th Street Southeast, Mason City, with Reverend Jenni Bohls officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. The family has requested casual attire; Steve was T-Shirt and jeans type of guy.

Visitation will be held Monday June 16, 2008, from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. at Hogan Bremer Moore Colonial Chapel, 126 3rd Street N.E. Mason City. Visitation will continue one hour prior to the service at the church on Tuesday.

Memorials may be directed to the Steven Trappe Memorial Fund.

Steven Dean Trappe was born December 20, 1963, in Mason City, the son of Harlan “Dean” and Susan (Gordon) Trappe. Steve graduated from Mason City High School in 1982. After graduation he enlisted in the United States National Guard and Reserves.

Steve was united in marriage to Jennifer Prindle on January 13, 1996, at St. James Lutheran Church, Mason City. Steve was currently working at Curries, where he had been employed for the last 23 years.

Steve was a huge NASCAR enthusiast and enjoyed Harley Davidson Motorcycles. His greatest love was spending time with his family and friends. He was a joker that was happy go lucky all the time. He was known for giving everyone a nickname. Steve liked hanging out enjoying summer nights on the deck!

Steve is survived by his wife Jennifer Trappe, Mason City, children Traci, Kelli, Sidney and Derick Trappe, all of Mason City; mother Susan Trappe and special friend Ed Jones, Mason City; brother James Trappe, Mason City; mother and father in law Jim and Kathy Prindle, Mason City; sisters in-law Joanna (Kurt) Livingston, Orlando, FL, Lisa Myers and fiancé Mike Waage, Mason City; godfather Steve Barlow; along with several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

He is preceded in death by his grandparents Paul and Dorothy Gordon and Willard and Eva Trappe, father Harlan “Dean” Trappe, brother Stacy Trappe, and one infant sister Robin.
