| Bobby Gene Davis, age 77, of Russellville, died Wednesday, May 28, 2008 at Saint Mary’s Regional Medical Center. A son of the late Edgar Herman and Mary Sally Bishop Davis, he was born October 9, 1930 in Pottsville. He was a former eighteen year employee of Boeing Aircraft in Wichita, Kansas, and had retired as a lock operator from the Corps of Engineers. He was active in the Pope County Senior Citizens Center, was a Mason, a United States Army veteran of the Korean Conflict, a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Rogers-Rye Post # 2283 and a member of First Free Will Baptist Church in Russellville.
He was also preceded in death by three brothers: Lemond Davis, Leon Davis and his twin brother, Billy Davis; and five sisters: Bernice Caldwell, Inez Davis, Dixie Covell, Sue Barlow and Betty Akers.
Survivors include his wife of forty-seven years, Nelma Lou Davis; two daughters and sons-in-law: Kathryn Ann and Rick Brunetti and Karla Jean and David Teeter, all of Russellville; five grandchildren: Seth, Megan and Tessa Brunetti, Jonathan Teeter and Nathaniel Culwell; and numerous nephews and nieces.
The funeral service will be at 10 A.M. on Saturday, May 31, 2008, at First Free Will Baptist Church, officiated by the Rev. Blaine Rogers, the Rev. Billy Ellis and Daniel Millsaps. Burial will be in Pisgah Cemetery near Pottsville, by Shinn Funeral Service.
The family will receive friends on Friday evening, from 5 to 6 P.M., at the funeral home.
