Roy Eugene Morton, 67, farmer and construction worker, died Saturday, October 17, 2009 at his residence on Dog Creek Road in the Primm Springs Community.

Funeral services will be Monday at 2:00 p.m. at Oakes & Nichols with Rev. Howard Alexander and Rev. Gary Fewell officiating. Burial will follow in the Byrd Cemetery. The family will visit with friends Sunday from 3:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Notes of sympathy may be sent to www.oakesandnichols.com.

The Maury County native was the son of the late John Lewis Morton, Sr. and a member of the Church of the Nazarene.

He is survived by his mother, Berthia Estell Westmoreland Morton of Primm Springs; sisters, Peggy (Gene) Chancey of Ducktown, Lynda (Charles) Gober of Nashville, Carolyn Truette of Primm Springs, and Cathey (Tony) McNabb of Primm Springs; brothers, Roger (Carolyn) Morton of Primm Springs, John L. (Carla) Morton, Jr. of Primm Springs, Billy Joe (Rita) Morton of Primm Springs, and Randy (Patricia) Morton of Hendersonville; several nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers are John Morton, III, Gerald Truette, Mack Westmoreland, Everett Stewart, Jason Dunn, Jeff Rodriguez, Michael Westmoreland, and Ronnie Burns.
