INTERMENT
Ayrshire, Iowa
Helen M. Paden, daughter of Thomas Foy and Mary Elizabeth (Sanders) Paden, was born August 13, 1937, in Great Oak Township, near Curlew, Iowa. She received her education at Ayrshire Consolidated School, graduating in 1956.
Helen served as housekeeper for Bishop Soens and many other parish priests of the Sioux City Diocese, for eighteen years. She retired in 1996 and moved to Laurens. In 2001, Helen and her sisters, Bessie and Marie, moved to Emmetsburg. In 2010 Helen moved to the Emmetsburg Care Center, where many friends became her family.
Helen was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Ayrshire, where she was a member of Altar Society. Helen was also a member of Catholic Benefit Society and Legion of Mary. Helen had served as a 4-H leader and C.C.D. teacher for many years and was a D.C.C.W. Representative.
Helen enjoyed attending dances at the Woodcliff in her younger years. She loved traveling, and was able to go to Ireland, France and the Holy Land. These were truly highlights in Helen’s life. She was also always ready to take her sisters for a ride around the country side to visit the farm or to go shopping and out for lunch.
Helen passed away Saturday, April 28, 2012, at the Palo Alto County Hospital in Emmetsburg, Iowa at the age of 74. She was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, Henry, Bernard (John), and Robert Paden; sisters, Catherine Dennis, Bessie Paden and Marie Allen.
She is survived by her sister, Rose Hill of Curlew, Iowa; many nieces and nephews; her friends at the Emmetsburg Care Center; as well as many other relatives and friends.
