Eugene Marvin Williamson, son of Henry and Bertha (Wichman) Williamson, was born January 5, 1926. Gene attended country school and completed his education at Silver Lake Township High School in Ayrshire. Gene served in the United States Army from June 29, 1945 until being honorably discharged on July 10, 1946. He was stationed in Germany during this time.
On January 6, 1945, Gene was united in marriage to Mildred “Peanuts” Mason in Jackson, Minnesota. To this union four children were born.
Gene operated a gas station and he and Peanuts farmed near Ruthven for many years. While farming, Gene owed and operated a semi. He also raised hogs. Gene had also worked at Eaton’s and he and Peanuts ran the bar “Gene’s Place”.
Gene retired but always stayed busy helping others or caring for his yard. He loved to mow grass and could be seen on his lawn mower nearly every day. Gene also enjoyed working on cars.
