Viola Lucille Arndt Wagner, daughter of Charles D. and Ida (Henneman) Miller, was born September 9, 1911 in Clay County, Iowa. She attended school in Clay County.
On February 23, 1936 Viola was united in marriage to W.R. Arndt in Clay County. To this union two sons were born. On August 30, 1959 Viola married H.A. Wagner in Sac City, Iowa.
Viola was employed at Bjornstad’s Drug in Spencer for four years and then she worked at the Ruthven Telephone Company for forty years. Viola was a member of the United Methodist Church in Ruthven where she was active in the United Methodist Women. She was a fifty year member of the Order of Eastern Star.
Viola died Monday, October 17, 2005 at the Ruthven Community Care Center at the age of 94. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husbands; a son, Richard Arndt; brothers and sisters, Emily, Delphine, Nancy, Olive, Frank, Grace, Rausel and Myrtle.
She is survived by her son, Ronald Arndt and his wife, Donna of Sioux Falls, SD; daughter-in-law, Sharon Arndt of Ruthven, IA; six grandchildren, Trent Arndt, Lisa Nelson, Amy Winn, Trace Arndt, David Wagner and Debra Jasper; nine great grandchildren; as well as many other relatives and friends.
