Matthew Ray Coleman was born on January 23, 1972 to Larry L. and Rosemary (Pedersen) Coleman in Emmetsburg, Iowa. He grew up in Ruthven where he attended school and graduated from Ruthven-Ayrshire Community School. While in school Matt demonstrated his many talents and love of football, track, baseball and music.
Following graduation Matt went on to attend Des Moines Area Community College where he majored in Criminal Justice and then transferred to Iowa Lakes Community College where he met his wife, Tracy (Kruse) Coleman. The two were married on January 24, 1997 in Ruthven. On August 7, 2002 this union was blessed with a son, Titan James.
Matt and his family lived and worked in the Spencer area until they moved to their new home in Ruthven where Matt operated his own business for the last four years.
Matt was a wonderful family man and friend to so many people who gave so unselfishly of his time and attention. Matt enjoyed fishing, motorcycle riding, working on his home and spending time with his family and many friends.
Matt leaves behind to cherish his memory, wife, Tracy and their son, Titan; his parents, Larry Coleman and Kathleen; his mother, Rosemary; two brothers, Scott and Nathan; grandparents, Lawrence and Bernadine Coleman; mother-in-law, Deb Kruse; sisters-in-law, Kim Wells, Lisa Kruse and Joni Kruse; along with countless friends.
Matt was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Harold and Arlene Pedersen; one aunt; great grandparents, Frank and Maude Coleman, Bernard and Nellie Janssen, Andrew and Anna Pedersen, and Ben and Clara Cassem; and father-in-law, Theodore Kruse.
