Bruce Alan Barg, son of Gordon Barg and Joyce (Knouse), was born November 4, 1962 in Ottumwa, Iowa. He attended school in Emmetsburg graduating from Emmetsburg High School in 1981. During high school Bruce was active in football, wrestling, baseball and basketball.
Bruce was united in marriage to Janelle Steffen. To this union three children were born. Bruce lived in Carroll for several years and had lived in Sioux City for the past three years. He enjoyed driving truck both cross country and locally and was currently employed by South Sioux City where he worked in the sanitation department.
Bruce was an avid sports fan and especially enjoyed the New York Yankees and the Oakland Raiders. He loved spending time with children and entertaining them. He enjoyed listening to country music and liked playing golf. Bruce enjoyed the outdoors and especially looked forward to deer hunting and going fishing.
Bruce died Friday, July 15, 2005 at his home in Sioux City, Iowa at the age of 42. He was preceded in death by his grandparents.
He is survived by his children, Joshua Barg and his wife, Katie of Titonka, IA, Jessica Barg of Forest City, IA and Jason Barg of Forest City, IA; a grandson, Braden; his parents, Gordon Barg of Sioux City, IA and Joyce Barg of Ruthven, IA; sisters, Renee Elbert and her husband, Michael of Royal, IA and Christine Nielsen and her husband, Sherman of Royal, IA; aunts; uncles; cousins; niece and nephews; as well as many other relatives and friends.
