Lois Ann Cody, daughter of George and Myrtle (Harvey) Harrison, was born January 2, 1929, in Emmetsburg, Iowa. She received her education in Cylinder, Iowa, graduating from Cylinder High School.

On November 14, 1947, Lois was united in marriage to Kenneth Cody at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Depew. To this union six children were born. Lois and Ken made their home on a farm near Cylinder.

Lois was a devoted homemaker caring for her family and also working with Ken on the farm. She loved caring for her garden and sewing. Lois was a day care provider for fourteen years. She loved to attend athletic events that her children and grandchildren were active in. She was an avid Twins fan as well. Lois was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Depew where she was active in ELCW Circle and guild. She was also a member of the V.F.W. Auxiliary and active in the Senior Center and Northwest Aging.

Lois died Sunday, August 24, 2008, at the Palo Alto County Hospital in Emmetsburg, Iowa, at the age of 79. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Kenneth; brothers, Willard, James, Glen, Richard and Paul Harrison; and a sister, Betty Gjerde.

She is survived by her children, David Cody (Patsy) of Pella, IA; Jon Cody (Linda) of Richardson, TX; Becky Finer (Steve) of Emmetsburg, IA; Mark Cody (Connie) of Sutherland, IA; Steven Cody (Joni) of Emmetsburg, IA and Kimberly Weihe of Sioux Falls, SD; fifteen grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; a brother, George Harrison (Donna) of Peterson, IA; sisters, Dorothy Nase (Bud) of Mankato, MN; Marilyn Egland (Larry) of Emmetsburg, IA and Janice Joynt (Jerry) of Clear Lake, IA; as well as many other relatives and friends.
