| | | Lenzie A. Bevel age 87, passed away Friday evening April 20, 2007 at Johnson Memorial Hospital in Franklin. He was a resident of Bargersville and former resident of Morgantown.
Born June 3, 1919 in Lafayette, TN, he was the son of the late John and Alice (Claiborne) Bevel. Lenzie married Mary Kathleen (Jones) September 7, 1946 in Franklin, Kentucky. She survives.
Lenzie served with the Marine Wing Service Squadren Nine for the United States Marine Corp. during World War II. After the war he received a degree from the School of Agriculture at Purdue University.
Lenzie was retired from farming in Johnson County. He also worked at Arvin’s in Franklin during the 1940’s and 1950’s.
He was a 25 year member of the Fellowship Baptist Church in Trafalgar and a past member of the Rough Riders Saddle Club.
He loved to be outdoors hunting, working the fields and raising cattle & horses. He was known as a “Horse Trader” He enjoyed watching old western movies and was a fan of the tv shows Gun Smoke and Bonaza. He also enjoyed spending time with his dog Gadiva.
Survived by his wife: Mary Kathleen Bevel of Bargersville; three daughters: June (Thomas) Perry of Hampton, GA, Jan (Jeff) Lindstrom of Bargersville & Kathy (Jim) Goss of Morgantown; three grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
Friends may call Tuesday from 4:00 - 8:00 p.m. at Meredith - Clark Funeral Home Cremation & Personalization Center, 179 E. Mulberry Street in Morgantown.
The Rev’s. Jeff Hopson, James Brown & Eddie Law will conduct a funeral service 2:00 pm Wednesday at the funeral home.
Interment will be at Greenlawn Cemetery in Franklin.
