Norma J. (Mathews) Berry
Norma J. (Mathews) Berry, 81, died Friday, April 28, 2006, at Franklin United Methodist Community. She was a resident of Franklin.
She was born Sept. 3, 1924, in Clay County, Ky., to the late Peter A. and Loretta (Terry) Mathews. She married Francis Berry on Feb. 4, 1945, in Smith Valley. He survives. Other survivors include a daughter, Celine (Ron) Bates of Morgantown; a brother, A.C. Junior Mathews of Terre Haute; two granddaughters, Andrea J. (Doug) Amich of Franklin and Debbie L. (Quentin) Stout of Morgantown; one great-granddaughter, Jordan Amich of Franklin; and two great-grandsons, Levi Stout of Morgantown and Jared Amich of Franklin.
She was a 1942 graduate of Hymeria High School. She also graduated from Approved University Beauty School in Indianapolis.
She retired in 1975 as a beautician and the owner and operator of The Beautyroom in Indianapolis after 25 years of service.
She was a past member of the Trafalgar Order of the Eastern Star, past member of the Kappa Kappa Sigma Sorority, member of the Morgantown United Methodist Church and the Smith Valley Home Economics Club.
The Revs. Neal Partain and Larry Stewart will conduct a funeral service at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Meredith-Clark Funeral Home, Cremation and Personalization Center, 179 E. Mulberry St., Morgantown. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home. Burial will be at East Hill Cemetery in Morgantown.
