Reginald G. Bloor, 87, died Saturday, Nov. 12, 2005, at Homeview Health and Rehabilitation Center in Franklin. He was a resident of Trafalgar.
He was born Oct. 15, 1918, in New Castle, Staffordshire, England, to the late George Henry and Mary (Plant) Bloor. He came to the United States in 1925. He married Opal M. (Britton) Bloor on Oct. 17, 1946. She survives. Other survivors include his caregivers, Ron and Gloria Vansickle of Trafalgar; and close friends, Tom Byatt of England, Carol and Dan Kubinski of Franklin, Carol Meinczinger of Franklin and Lynne Haste of Trafalgar.
He graduated from Ben Davis High School in Indianapolis in 1936 and attended Indiana University.
He was a corporal in the U.S. Army during World War II where he worked as a medic and chaplains assistant.
He retired in 1978 as a veterans counselor with more than 30 years of service with the Veterans Administration in Indianapolis. He also owned and operated his family farm in Trafalgar.
He was a long-standing member of St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church in Franklin.
He was a charter member of the Johnson County Garden Club and was considered a master gardener. He was also a member of the Johnson County Historical Society.
He enjoyed gardening, reading Western and history books and traveling.
The Rev. Tom Schliessmann will conduct a funeral service at 1 p.m. Tuesday at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church, 114 Lancelot Drive in Franklin. Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery in Indianapolis.

Arrangements are being handled by Meredith-Clark Funeral Home, Cremation and Personalization Center in Morgantown.
