| | | Audrey Pate Allen, 94, died Friday, April 15, 2005, at Manor Care in Anderson. She was a resident of Anderson and was a former longtime resident of Morgantown.
She was born Oct. 3, 1910, in Morgan County. Her parents were Minor and Cora (Morgan) Williams. She married Ira Pate on May 11, 1929. He preceded her in death Dec. 9, 1960. She married Neal Allen on Jan. 23, 1967. He preceded her in death on Jan. 27, 1972. Survivors include a son, Dwight A. Pate of Morgantown; two grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by two sisters, Ruth Allen and Cynthia Roush; and three brothers, Justin “Budge” Morgan and Mickey and Gerald Williams.
She was an obstetric technician at Johnson Memorial Hospital for 22 years, retiring in 1980.
She was a lifetime member of Morgantown Baptist Church. She was also a member of Morgantown Senior Center and Rebekah Lodge, Morgantown Chapter.
She enjoyed crocheting and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
The Rev. Ben Swopes will conduct a service at 11 a.m. Monday at Meredith-Clark Funeral Home Cremation & Personalization Center, 179 E. Mulberry St. in Morgantown. Friends may call from 5 to 7 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Burial will be at East Hill Cemetery in Morgantown.
