Delores E. (Emberton) Butler, 71, died Sunday, March 6, 2005, at Johnson Memorial Hospital in Franklin. She was a resident of Brown County.

She was born Jan. 2, 1934, in Spearsville. Her parents were Orval H. and Sylvia (McEldowney) Emberton. She married Thomas M. “T.M.” Butler on April 26, 1963, in Gatlinburg, Tenn. He preceded her in death Jan. 8, 1994. Survivors include a daughter, Jackie L. Baker of Morgantown; two sons, Thomas M. Butler of Nashville and Larry M. Emberton of Indianapolis; a brother, Ronald L. Emberton of Morgantown; 16 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by two sisters, Mary White and Grace Hacker; and four brothers, Robert, Richard, James and Garold Emberton.

She was a graduate of Helmsburg High School, Class of 1952.

She was an accounting technician for the Indiana National Guard at Stout Field in Indianapolis, retiring in 1989 after 33 years of service. She was also a homemaker.

She enjoyed reading her Bible, playing the organ, singing to her grandchildren, bird watching and taking in stray animals. She was a loyal “Jeopardy” and “Wheel of Fortune” fan.

The Rev. Eugene Baker Jr. will conduct a service at 1 p.m. Wednesday at the Way of Holiness Tabernacle, 7990 N. State Road 135 in Brown County. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Meredith-Clark Funeral Home Cremation & Personalization Center, 179 E. Mulberry St. in Morgantown. Burial will be at East Hill Cemetery in Morgantown.
